Co-owner, Talbot Ecological Land Care in Mashpee.

Massachusetts-certified horticulturalist, landscape designer, and certified arborist.

Vice-Chair, Mashpee Conservation Commission. Restoration ecologist, conservation consultant. Early pioneer of organic lawn, land care, and sustainable landscape design.

Virginia Scharfenberg, Clerk

Co-owner, Talbot Ecological Land Care

Advocate for the Cape Cod environment since moving here in 1998.

Serves on the Board of Directors, Waquoit Bay Reserve Foundation.

Brian Hyde, Director

Mashpee Superintendent of Schools, is a 20-year director of the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod; a founding corporator and director of the Mashpee One-Room School House Preservation Council.

He also serves on the Mashpee Historical Commission and the Mashpee Historic District Commission.

John D. Harris, Director

A committed advocate for a healthy environment.

Beverly Kane

Lived in Mashpee since 1992.

Continuously involved in local environmental issues since 1995.

Served on the Mashpee Planning Board from 2000 through 2008.

Birgit Nelson, Treasurer

A Mashpee resident since 1989.

A retired science teacher and guidance counselor.

Served on the Senior Environmental Corps of Cape Cod and Islands. Volunteers at the Mashpee Public Library.

George Reichenbacher

Retired electronics engineer/manager.

Resident of Mashpee since 1985.

MEC Director since 2004. Major activities include testing of John’s Pond, tennis, and Senior softball.

Evelyn Buschenfeldt

Retired school business manager.

Active on town committees involving open space, the environment, housing, and historic preservation.

Maxine Wolfset

A public school teacher, piano teacher, and hospital administrative assistant before moving to Cape Cod in 2000.

Producer of several award-winning short documentaries that show concern for the environment, local, and national issues.
