How do I join the Mashpee Environmental Coalition ?

Print and mail the membership application MEC Application.pdf or E-Mail Membership Chair for a membership application.

Where can I find a Membership Listing ?

Membership listings are not made available to prevent "Junk Mailing" associated problems.

Why doesn't the Coalition support Candidates or Legislation ?

The Internal Revenue Service 501 (c).3 non-profit designation for MEC prevents such direct support.  Factual information relating to the candidate or legislation is allowed.

How did the group begin ?

A few residents concerned about the Mashpee River, rapid growth of the town and apparent lack of active ecological concern met informally trying to develop a grassroots awareness of the environmental problems facing the town. These informal meetings grew into the Coalition

What is the size of the membership ?

MEC membership roles for the past several years have fluctuated at about 200 members.

When was MEC founded ?

MEC's transition from a few residents talking informally to an organized group began with the issue of the first quarterly newsletter in the Summer of 1996.
