CAC activities

The Community Advisory Committee was invited to the September 2005 Sewer Commission meeting to view a Sterns & Wheler (S&W) presentation. The presentation outlined potential treated wastewater infiltration sites and their groundwater flow regions plus a demonstration of the piping software when integrated with Mashpee Graphic Information System (GIS) info.

Since starting on the planning process S&W have issued "Needs Assessment", "Technology Evaluation" and a draft "Alternative Scenarios Analysis and Site Evaluation" Reports. The reports have been reviewed and comments provided. Work on the evaluation of five scenarios contained in the draft scenarios reports was scheduled for a Fall 2007 completion. The evaluation would determine each scenario's ability to achieve the required nutrient reductions via wastewater treatment At this time (5/09) there is no available date for completion of the scenarios evaluation.

Potential infiltration sites have been identified and evaluated for groundwater flow and volume in a "What's Available" review. No decisions have been made. This is a second cut view.
